DAY 3 OF 7

Edunacious in Patience Why are you investing so much time in those students? They are trouble makers. Why are you helping those students during your lunch break? I don’t see them ever being anything in life anyway. I wouldn’t wake up early to come to work and help any students. This institution doesn’t pay educators enough as it is. Why are you remaining diligent with your students? It’s not like anyone appreciates educators anyway. Don’t you get bored with the same routine every day? There are so many other professions you could do that are more exciting with more pay. What!!?! Wait a minute.. you purchased food and personal resources for your students? That’s what their parents are for, you are doing too much and aren’t you struggling financially yourself? I understand that your students’ parents have transportation issues, but you couldn’t get me to do what you are doing, I would have left. Patiently waiting and making sure students reach their destination safely is another job within itself that I need to be paid for. Why do you go out of your way to encourage and mentor your students? You do so much to make them feel special but what do you get in return? What makes you think that you are making a significant difference in anyone’s life? All you do is over extend yourself for the betterment of your students and you don’t receive the recognition you deserve. Patience is another God-honoring principle for educators to actively demonstrate amidst their daily operations with students. If not checked an educator can get caught up listening to their colleagues complain and magnify their personal and professional difficulties and not focusing on the opportunity to thank God for what they have and what they can do in a person’s life. God-honoring educators must exhibit patience even when things appear mundane and stale. Although change may not be immediately detected, patience is withstanding the desire to quit even when the tasks are tedious. Patience is absolutely necessary. Educators be encouraged and continue sowing seeds of patience, sacrifice and love into the ones God has called you to influence, inspire, and impact. Patience is doing what is right and honorable despite what it looks like and knowing that God is not slow in keeping his promises as some understand slowness.
