#JESUS2018 - Daily Devotionals

DAY 2 OF 41

## REMEMBER It was just light blue: my favorite shirt when I was 16 years old. (Yes, I wore shirts at the age of 16.) When my favorite soccer team was finally having successes again after having been relegated, the trainer wore a shirt just like this one at every game of a winning streak. So, this became an important symbol for me and many others. It reminded me of moments that were full of hope, worries and a happy end. And it identified me: most of my classmates knew what this shirt symbolized. Symbols play an important role in our lives. They remind us of things that are important. Things that identify us. They make sure that we do not forget something important in our often busy and fast-moving everyday lives. Jesus knows that his friends are going to go through challenging times. And he knows that precisely in these times it is important to know who you are and what your values are. With the Lord’s Supper, he gives them and us a symbol that reminds us of who we are: infinitely loved and so valuable that God himself has paid the highest price for us! And that is so much better than a light blue victory shirt. ## ACTION STEP: When was the last time you consciously took the Lord’s Supper? Take the opportunity today to celebrate with your friends, partner, children or Small Group. Speak out truths over each other and consciously accept who you are: loved, valuable, saved! To conclude, thank Jesus for everything he has done for you. ##### Nathanael Rosemann, ICF Salzburg
