Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows (Matthew 1:18 NKJV).

Why do people die?

God had created Adam, put him in the garden, and warned him not to partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil “for the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die” (Genesis 2:17 NKJV). Continuing in Genesis, we find disobedience, and as a result of the disobedience, we have death. Since Adam was our representative, we now know physical death as well. “For as in Adam all die” (1 Corinthians 15:22 NKJV) is what we learn from the New Testament scripture.

The good news is that we have a New Testament, and in Matthew 1:18 (NKJV) it says, “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows”. The Greek text word order of Matthew 1:18 places the words “Jesus Christ” before the word “birth”. In essence, Jesus Christ existed before He was born. He, as the eternal Son of God, died for our sin, conquered death, and when we place faith in Him, we are granted the gift of eternal life.

Employment Point: Sincerely seek to worship King Jesus.
