Turn Your Eyes

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. –Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)

Living a life of worship is more than just singing songs on a Sunday morning—it’s a daily posture of surrender, devotion, and intentionality. A lifestyle of worship requires sacrifice from us. To continually turn our hearts and eyes toward Jesus, we must lay down our time, our energy, and even our preferences. But in doing so, we’re not losing—we’re gaining something far greater. When we submit our everyday lives to God, inviting Him into the ordinary moments, we make Him the center. And as He becomes greater in our hearts, everything else begins to fall into place. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33 (NLT): “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” A life anchored in and focused on Him is a life full of purpose, peace, and provision.

Worship isn’t limited to music or church gatherings. A lifestyle of worship looks like carving out time each day to pray and listen and to respond to God’s presence. It means intentionally welcoming the Holy Spirit into your conversations, your work, your relationships, and your rest. Worship is also reflected in how we love—being present with our families, showing grace to our coworkers, and serving with joy in our churches and communities. As followers of Jesus, we’re invited into an ongoing relationship with a God who is deeply personal. He doesn’t just want to be part of your life; He wants to be in all of it. That’s the essence of a worship-filled life: walking closely with Him, moment by moment.

This week, take intentional steps to pause and invite Jesus into your day. Ask the Holy Spirit to heighten your awareness of His nearness—in your thoughts, in your interactions, and in your responsibilities. Look for ways to serve in your local church or community, using your gifts to glorify God and love others. Remember, God’s invitation is not just to attend a worship service but to live a life of worship.

Prayer: Lord, You are worthy of my worship. I want to lift my voice and worship You every day and commit to staying in that atmosphere all week. Help me to set my eyes upon You and see You for who You rightly are—a great and mighty God who is bigger than any problem I could ever face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
