Greatly to Be Praised

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.” Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” –Revelation 4:8–11 (NIV)

Worship is more than a song—it’s a way of life. We can express our love and devotion to the Lord in many ways: through music and singing, through prayer and petitions, and through our daily actions and service. Worship isn’t limited to what happens during a church service—it can and should happen throughout every part of our lives. As we interact with others, go about our responsibilities, and carry out our work or studies, we have the opportunity to glorify God in every area of our lives. Every task, no matter how small, becomes an act of worship when done with a heart focused on Him.

In Revelation 4, we’re given a glimpse of heavenly worship—where angels surround God’s throne, continually declaring, “Holy, holy, holy.” Their worship is unending because their revelation of God is unending. As they behold Him, they are constantly seeing new aspects of His grandeur, His worthiness, and His character. And that same invitation is extended to us: to live lives of worship—not just in moments of music or prayer but through our everyday choices, attitudes, and rhythms. As we worship, we begin to see more of who God is in the ordinary moments of life. The more we fix our eyes on Him, the more He reveals Himself, and the more we realize there are always new parts of His beauty and presence to discover.

Today, take a moment to consider how you can worship God through the way you live, work, and interact with others. Ask yourself how you can reflect His love in your conversations, and consider how you can stay aware of His presence in your daily routine. Ask the Lord to help you live with a heart of worship—one that glorifies Him in every moment. Let’s praise Him for who He is and thank Him for His many blessings!

Prayer: Father, teach me to be a true worshipper. Fill my heart with Your Spirit so my praise is genuine, vibrant, and pleasing to You. You, Jesus, “‘must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less’” (John 3:30 NLT). I want to join all of Heaven and worship You all day long and say with my whole heart, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty” (Revelation 4:8 NIV)! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
