You Can Give Today
Have you ever thought, “I’ll clean my room later” … and then later never comes? Or maybe you planned to tell someone “thank you,” but forgot until it felt too late. It’s easy to think we’ll do good things tomorrow.
But the Bible teaches us that the best time to give is today. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35, NIV). That’s not a “someday” promise. It’s true right now. When you give today, you experience God’s blessing today.
The Bible reminds us, “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today,’ so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness” (Hebrews 3:13, NIV). That means if you see someone who needs kindness, give it now!
Proverbs also says, “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act” (Proverbs 3:27, NIV). If you have the chance to help a friend, share a snack, or offer a kind word, do it right away. Waiting only misses the moment.
You don’t have to be a grown-up to make a difference. You don’t need lots of money or fancy things. What matters is using what God gave you right now. A smile, a prayer, a kind word, or a helping hand might be the gift someone needs today.
Jesus gives us what we need every single day. And He invites us to give to others daily, too. So don’t wait for the “perfect” moment. Start giving today!
Challenge:
Do one act of giving today. Share, serve, encourage, or pray for someone right now. Don’t wait for tomorrow. The best time to give is today!
