Jesus Gives Eternally
Have you ever gotten a toy you were so excited about, only for it to break a week later? Or maybe you had candy that tasted amazing, but a few minutes later, it was gone. Almost everything in this world doesn’t last forever.
But Jesus gives us something better—something that never breaks, runs out, or fades away. He gives us eternal life. Eternal means forever and ever.
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, NIV). Because God loves us so much, He gave His Son, Jesus, so that anyone who believes in Him will live forever with Him. That’s the best gift ever!
Jesus also said, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand” (John 10:28, NIV). Once we belong to Jesus, we are safe in His hands. Nothing and no one can take that gift away.
Romans reminds us, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23, NIV). Eternal life isn’t something we can earn by being “good enough.” It’s a free gift because Jesus gave His life for us.
Think about it: Jesus didn’t come just to give you something temporary, like a toy or candy. He came to give you something eternal: life with Him forever. No matter what happens in this world, we can always have hope and joy because of His promise.
Jesus gives eternally, and that makes His gift the greatest treasure we could ever have.
Challenge:
Draw or write about one gift Jesus has given you that lasts forever, like forgiveness, love, or eternal life. Share it with your family and thank God for His forever gifts.
