Jesus Gives Abundantly
Have you ever ordered popcorn at the movies and watched the worker fill the bag so full that it spilled over the top? Or maybe you’ve poured a glass of soda and it fizzed up and overflowed. That’s what it looks like to have more than enough.
That’s the way Jesus gives! He doesn’t just give a little. He gives abundantly, which means overflowing and more than enough. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10, NIV).
This doesn’t mean a life full of toys or money. It means a life full of love, joy, peace, and purpose.
When Jesus fed 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, everyone ate until they were full—and there were even baskets of leftovers! That’s abundant giving. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry” (John 6:35, NIV). He gives us what we really need, and He never runs out.
The Bible tells us, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20, NIV). Jesus gives far more than we could ever dream of, because His love has no limits.
Jesus gives abundantly because He loves us deeply. He doesn’t want us to survive. He wants us to thrive in His love!
Challenge:
Make a “Thankful Overflow List.” Write down or draw as many blessings as you can think of that Jesus has given you. Don’t stop at just a few—see how many you can come up with until your list overflows!
