# Does God want you to have success? [IMAGE CONTENT] Success is an elusive objective for many people I’ve met. It’s much like the proverbial carrot placed just out of reach of a horse or donkey. I’ve known so many people who were chasing after success and yet seemed miserable and unfulfilled. My dad would often quote, “‘ For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? ’” (Mark 8:36, NKJV) Yikes! He only knew one verse but held onto that one like an anchor for his soul. He was a war hero who survived and then succeeded tremendously in the corporate world. He knew a lot about success and its treacherous landmines. Do you want to be a success? What does success look like to you? Please don’t get me wrong. I believe God wants us to experience tremendous success. The Bible says those who crossed over the Jordan River would possess the Promised Land: “‘ I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. ’” (Joshua 1:3, NIV) In fact, God has a life plan for each one of us that will make us successful, happy, and fruitful. Success has its hidden trap doors, but God has the perfect prevention plan: humility, generosity, and unselfishness. He wanted to give the Promised Land to the Israelites, but it took 40 years of wandering to finally cross over . God always keeps His promises, even if it takes 40, 100, or a thousand years. Can you give yourself permission to cross over into a successful career, ministry, and life? You can’t enter if you don’t believe that God wants to give it to you. Don’t forget: “ ...without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. ” (Hebrews 11:6, NIV) It’s time to believe in His promises and His love because you are a miracle.
