UNCOMMEN: Father Figures

ДЕН 6 ОТ 7

God: Our Heavenly Father The perfect example of a father is our Heavenly Father. From the beginning, there was God, and He was thinking of you and I. He knew us before the foundations of the earth. His role as a Father is so deep and wide that we cannot completely understand his role in our life. Here are just a few. * Provider - Philippians 4:19 * Protector - Matthew 10: 29-31 * Encourager - Psalm 10:17 * Comforter - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 * Discipliner - Hebrews 12:10 * Lover - 1 John 3:1 For a more in-depth look at God as our Father, read the following verses. * Matthew 6:9-13 * 1 Corinthians 8:6 * Galatians 4:6 * Hebrews 12: 5-11 * 1 John 3:1, 9-10 Do you see God as your Father or do you see him as some distant idea that has no real presence in your life? The only role model I have in my life is God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Every man on earth (including all of our earthly fathers) are human and cannot be that perfect example of a father. But God can be that Father that you can place all of your trust in time and time again. Trust is a fragile thing and once it’s been broken or betrayed it’s hard to reestablish that again. But by the Grace of God, He has taken the first step toward us. That while we were still sinners, He gave up his life for us. When there is no sacrifice from a Dad toward his children, there is always a lack of trust. You’ve heard the statement, “putting some skin in the game”? Your children want to see that you are willing to sacrifice for them. That you would give up something so near and dear to yourself, to the betterment of them. That is just what God did, and the Bible tells us so in John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. That should make you, and I feel such trust in God that we should trust him with everything. Scripture Reference: 1 Corinthians 8:6
