Romans 8
Revealed as His Own
“For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.” (Romans 8:19)
Imagine this: all of creation—every tree, mountain, ocean, and star—is leaning forward, longing for one thing: for you to be revealed as a child of God. This is the deep truth that Paul writes about in Romans 8. It’s not just a poetic image; it’s a call to awaken to who you already are.
At first, it feels contradictory. Isaiah 42:8 says, “My glory I will not give to another.” And yet, in John 17, Jesus prays, “I have given them the glory you gave me.” So which is it? The answer lies in union. You are no longer “another.” In Christ, you’ve become one with Him. What was once unapproachable is now shared—not earned, but given.
This isn’t about self-exaltation. It’s about surrender. You don’t carry God’s glory by effort, but by presence. Romans 8:9–11 says the Spirit of God dwells in you. That means the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now lives in your mortal body. The glory that once dwelt in a temple now dwells in you.
God has designed you to live unveiled. Not hidden, not striving—just surrendered and revealed. This is the mystery of the gospel: Christ in you, the hope of glory.
The glory of God isn’t a reward for perfect behaviour—it’s the result of perfect union. And creation is waiting for you to realise that. Not someday. Now.
