High Holy Respect and Value

Many scholars agree that the author of Hebrews is shrouded in mystery, and the epistle’s penned words to the Hebrews are consistently upheld as divine inspiration that offer great contributions to our understanding of scripture and Christ himself. We can grasp the author’s tone and overall instruction in his emphasis to revere Christ and His nature. The author bridges the illustration of fire from the Old Testament to Christ’s own nature in how He’ll demonstrate His judgments and justice in time. This connection is vital and guides the reader in viewing Christ rightly. The worshipper pleases the One who is worshipped when he sees Him accurately with reverence, respect, and with high value.

We, as His creation, are not receiving a Kingdom made with finite human hands but hands of the divine man Himself who now places the unshakeable Kingdom in our earthen grasp as an entrustment to carry it until He comes. A Kingdom that cannot be compared to other systems of this world. Other systems and kingdoms fail but Christ’s Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom of His authority, love, and rulership. And for this reason, we are thankful that the divine man, Christ Jesus, imparted His Kingdom into our hearts. A Kingdom that is unshakeable, immovable, and everlasting, where His thoughts are higher than ours and His ways are greater than our own. There is no end to His Kingdom.

His Kingdom is ruled with passionate fire. His very presence consumes and purifies. No one can stand in His presence. Whatever He purifies, that is what will remain. Arrogance cannot stand, nor can the most brilliant of this world remain. Fire overwhelms spaces that we think will endure. It engulfs and levels everything to the ground. Only what He values remains. Like the nature of gold, silver, and precious jewels, only the things He values can withstand the consuming fire that He is. And so, like precious metal, we look to Him to refine us. The nature of His all-consuming fire is unmatched. All creation is made humble in His presence. For this reason, we value Him and honor His great Hand in all that His rulership touches. He is worthy of all our affection and devotion. His presence makes even the most obstinate tremble under His great Hand.
