Uncharted: Ruach, Spirit of Godናሙና

"So Joseph settled his father and his brothers in Egypt and gave them property in the best part of the land, the district of Rameses, as Pharaoh directed." - Genesis 47:11 (NIV)
The same brothers, who wanted to kill Joseph and sold him as a slave, now benefitted from his favour. Would you be so forgiving? You may forgive someone who wronged you; but what if someone you love is hurt? God asked that we forgive those who have offended us. He didn't specify the circumstance.
I decided to ‘punish’ a business owner who had mistreated a friend by refusing to support their business. It felt right, but it wasn’t. We only sour ourselves by not forgiving. Holding on to offence doesn’t bring healing, it changes us and not in a good way.
God has designed us to love others, to be free of the burden of resentment and unforgiveness. He doesn’t want us to carry it.
Who do you need to forgive? Ask God to show you what to do.
Prayer:
Lord, I pray that You would help me to keep my heart sweet, to forgive people who have hurt me or those I care about. Thank You that You forgave me and continue to forgive me, even though I don't deserve it. Amen.
