The Temptationsናሙና

You may have noticed something about yourself that is much different from when you were a little kid. Back then, you just lived life! Now, you’re aware of the growing number of decisions you get to make. With that awareness also comes an awareness of a pull between what God’s Spirit wants (wise decisions that honor God) and what you want (unwise decisions). When those two wants don’t quite agree, giving in to temptation becomes the easy choice, especially if we let down our guard or live disconnected from God. When we do this, we start to rely on our gut impulses instead of the wiser decision-making skills that come from being connected to God. Thankfully, we aren’t left to figure it out on our own.

How can you, like Matthew tells us to, stay aware, pray, and connect to God regularly? That’s how we’re able to resist temptation.
