LENT - a Journey for Teens: The Places We Goናሙና

The Invitation to Reconnect
Constantly trying to make ourselves good enough can lead to a kind of self-absorption in which we rarely find time to be in touch with our hearts.
We can only discover our inner goodness and worth, in the fact that we are God’s handiwork.
When we are unaware of what is happening around and within us, we can quickly feel insecure. If we don’t give ourselves the time and space to get in touch with our hearts, we can easily go to the place where we feel unworthy and useless.
On this Lent adventure, we have the opportunity to reclaim our worth, by getting in touch with our hearts. We will discover that we are always good enough if we respond to this invitation.
In the seemingly endless chaos and confusion, competitiveness and rush, we are anchored within ourselves, and the insecurity around us does not second-guess our inner goodness. On the contrary, we can hold onto the fact that we are good enough because we are secure in God.
Exercise:
How aware are you of the movements within your heart and around you? Are there parts of your life that have become worn-out? Can you name them? Take the time and space today, to reconnect with your deeper self. Talk to Jesus about what is in your heart now.
Prayer:
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. (Jeremiah 31:3)
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for loving me. Help me love You with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my mind.

This Lent plan invites you to face that which you so easily avoid - your humanity, your brokenness, your sadness and disappointments. For the next 40 days, we will embark on an adventure filled with some alone time, prayer and fasting. Each day will provide a scripture, a guide, an exercise and a grace prayer which you can pray throughout your day.
