Finding Happiness in Christ (Series 2)

DAG 5 VAN 7

## Disturbance Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. (Philippians 3:1a) A famous architect named Frank Lloyd Wright remembered an incident that seemed trivial at the time but had a profound impact on his life. One winter when he was only nine years old, Frank walked through a snow-covered field with his reclusive uncle, who always used his mind. When they both reached the end of the field, his uncle stopped Frank. He showed his footprints in the snow going straight and Frank's footprints winding through the fields. "See how your footprints move aimlessly from the fence to the cattle and onto the wood and then back again," said his uncle. "And look how uncle's footprints move straight towards the goal. There is an important lesson in that." Years later, the famous architect likes to tell how these experiences contributed to his philosophy of life. "At that moment, I decided," he said with a twinkle in his eye, "to not lose the things in life, which my uncle lost." Frank Lloyd Wright saw in the trail what his uncle could not: it was easy to allow the demands of life to take away the joys of life. Reflection: True happiness is being able to enjoy every second of life. Never miss a moment in our life for which we can be grateful. God always puts good things out of every event that we are facing. Don't be fooled into letting other people's choices determine our joys. (Henry Blackaby)
