# Called to Church During the first year of OUTCRY we saw amazing things. Every night we had thousands of people showing up, ready to pour their hearts out to Jesus. We saw thousands getting saved. It was an overwhelming feeling summed up in one word: Big. I remember coming home after our second tour just amped about what happened. How truly big it was. My first day back at my church, I was sitting in my office when I got a call from our receptionist. There was someone who needed a pastor. As I got to the front office, I was met by a woman. She had been a drug addict most of her adult life and expecting a child. She was at the end of her rope. After connecting her with some help and praying with her I felt the Lord speak to me. OUTCRY—in our human sense—is “big.” But in comparison to the power of the local church, it’s a drop in the bucket. God’s kingdom is so much more expansive than we could imagine. But it’s in the small things happening worldwide every day that makes the kingdom so big. We often inflate large events as the end-all-be-all of ministry, but in fact, it’s devoting yourself to the church right in front of you that carries the most power. The church is called Jesus’ body. His bride. It is extremely precious to him. He gave his life for her, so how much more is it worth giving your life to? You are called to your local church. Action : Do you attend a church? If not, find one. If so, volunteer wherever you’re needed. Do you work at a church? Pause and remember what an amazing privilege it is to serve God through your local church.
