Toe dit begin skemer word, sê Jesus vir sy dissipels: “Kom ons gaan na die oorkant van die meer toe.” Die dissipels is toe saam met Jesus, wat nog in die skuit was, daar weg. Die ander mense het op die strand agtergebly, hoewel party wel met skuitjies saam oorkant toe is. Daar bars toe ’n woeste storm los. Die golwe het tot binne-in die skuit geslaan en die skuit het vol water begin word. Jesus het agter in die skuit op ’n kussing gelê en slaap. Die dissipels skud Hom toe wakker en sê: “Gee U nie om dat ons besig is om te sink nie?”
