Hy wou by hulle weet presies waar die Messias, God se Gestuurde, gebore sou word. “In Betlehem, in die landstreek van Judea,” het hulle geantwoord. Die profeet Miga het immers geskryf: “Betlehem, jy is lankal nie meer ’n onbenullige klein plekkie iewers in Juda nie. ’n Groot leier sal nog uit jou midde kom. Hy sal Israel lei, net soos ’n herder sy skape lei.”
