Living HD - A Journey Through the Letter of James预览

If you could choose between being super fast and steadfast, which would you choose? At first glance super fast sounds better. We live in an age where everyone feels that he has to experience success as early as possible. We’re ironically steadfastly looking for instant gratification, recognition and success.
A friend of mine recently voiced his feelings saying that he was always irritated by average and being mediocre until he realised that to stay average can mean that you stay consistent.
To stay consistent can show how you endure. To endure reveals you as a person of character—someone you can rely on, someone you know will succeed because you slowly but surely finish the race.
More than this, this scripture shows that those who are steadfast are blessed because they rest in the Truth of who God is—compassionate and merciful—and therefore has hope and sparks hope in those around them.
"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." (Romans 5:3-5)
Are we staying steadfast like Job, trusting in God when nothing seems to go according to plan? Do we believe that God remains the same even when everything else is out of place?
