What is the church’s role in preparing believers for service?
The purpose of the church is not only to gather, but to train and send believers to do God’s work.
Ministry is not reserved for pastors alone. Every believer has been given gifts to serve the Lord and help others grow in faith. The local church is where those gifts are developed and used for God’s glory.
If you want to serve Christ, start in your local church. One of the common obstacles to serving is the belief that you don’t possess any talents or skills that are useful. However, it doesn’t take talent or skills to become a greeter, to serve as an usher, or serve in many other capacities. God doesn’t require us to be special to serve. He needs a willing heart, and He will do the rest!
