God has given us the power to overcome temptation. Jesus broke the hold that sin has on us when He died for us on the cross. Romans 6:6 tells us, “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
The body of sin has been destroyed; our old man is crucified with Christ, so we are to no longer serve sin! We are freed and forgiven from sin. Why would we go back to the thing that we were freed from? We are saved to serve our Savior, not sin! We are free to exercise His power in our lives each day. Choose to live in freedom from the power of sin today!
