Before our salvation, everything in our lives was programmed to be apart from God. Our decisions, habits, and lifestyle were all works of the flesh, as it was all we knew. The moment we are saved, the Holy Spirit empowers us to live for Jesus, but we are in a battle as we face regular temptation.
The devil actively targets people with efforts to destroy their lives. The child of God will experience temptation; even Jesus experienced temptation during His time on Earth. Matthew 4:3 refers to Satan as the tempter, stating, “And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” Temptations will come into our lives.
Have we allowed them to cause us to sin? With God’s help today, allow Him to help you see the victory over sin.
