Why Students Matter to God?

DAY 7 OF 7

The Harvest Field Is Young

When Jesus spoke these words, He wasn’t looking at fields of grain—He was looking at people. Crowds of weary, searching, broken people who needed the Good Shepherd. His heart was moved with compassion, and He saw not scarcity, but opportunity.

Now pause and think: where is the harvest field most open today? Walk across a college campus. Scroll through a student’s social media feed. Sit in a classroom. You’ll find young men and women asking the biggest questions: Who am I? What is truth? What is life for? This is not just a harvest—it’s a ripe harvest.

But here’s the tension: while the harvest is plentiful, the workers are few. The enemy knows that if students encounter Jesus, entire generations will be changed. That’s why the battle is fiercest at this stage of life. This is why ministry to youth and students is urgent. We’re not just shaping individuals—we’re influencing families, workplaces, churches, and nations for decades to come.

Jesus’ call still stands: pray earnestly. But prayer isn’t passive—it moves us to act. Maybe you’re the worker God wants to send. Maybe the students around you are the laborers He is raising up. What would happen if we prayed and invested with this urgency every day?

The harvest is young. The time is now. The question is—will we go, will we invest, will we pray?

Reflection: Do I see students as a burden, or as part of God’s ripe harvest field?

Action Step: Pray specifically today for God to raise student laborers in your city, campus, or church. Ask Him if He is calling you to step into the harvest alongside them.
