Why Students Matter to God?Намуна

God’s Heart for the Young
Think back to when you were a teenager. Life felt uncertain, identity was being formed, and the future looked both exciting and intimidating. It’s easy to assume that God waits until someone “matures” before He can use them. But the Bible breaks that myth over and over.
When God called Jeremiah, he was young and inexperienced. His first reaction was, “I am only a youth!” But God’s response was clear: “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go.” God doesn’t recruit people based on age or ability, but as per His sovereign plan.
This is why student ministry matters. Young people are not the church of tomorrow; they are the church of today. If we ignore them until they “grow up,” we risk losing the very people God is ready to send now. David killed Goliath as a teenager. Mary carried Christ as a young girl. Timothy pastored a church while still in his youth.
The world sees students as unfinished. God sees them as vessels ready to be filled and poured out. Our role is to invest in them, guide them, and believe in what God can do through them right now.
So, the question is: how do you see the youth around you? Do you treat them as passive spectators in God’s mission—or as active participants? Maybe it’s time to change the way we speak, pray, and plan when it comes to them.
Action Step: Pray today for one student you know. Ask God to reveal His purposes in their life, and ask Him to show you how you can be part of their journey.
Reflection: Am I underestimating what God can do through young people?
