Quiet Time Moments for Women - 30 DaysНамуна

The Nearness of God
But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works.
Psalm 73:28, NASB
Asaph wallowed in self-pity and envy until he drew near to God in prayer. Immediately God gave him spiritual understanding to continue on his journey. Prayer is essential to keep you on your path to heavenly glory. Once God pulled Asaph out of the miry pit, God reminded him of His presence, guidance, glory, and strength (Ps. 73:23-26, NASB). With his spiritual glasses firmly in place, Asaph experienced a renewed sense of God’s presence in his life. He realized that nothing in life compares to knowing God and enjoying His nearness. Prosperity no longer tugged at his heart, and earthly comforts stopped beckoning his attention. His eyes were fixed on God.
When you are tempted to envy or self-pity, remember Asaph and go immediately to prayer.
Lord, thank You that You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Your nearness is my good. Amen.
