Run Before the Wind
Men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:21, AMP
The nautical term "bear away" means to change a ship’s course so it can run before the wind. The position of the sail determines its ability to catch the wind. When the sail reaches the correct position and catches the full force of the wind, the ship sails smoothly.
What a joy to watch sailboats gliding on the water with the power of the wind propelling them forward. And how wonderful to see believers respond to the power of the Holy Spirit blowing through their lives! Sometimes the Spirit of God moves in a new direction. Instead of wrestling with His move, surrender and set your sail to catch the new direction of the wind. Whatever you may be experiencing today, recognize God’s Spirit at work in you. Surrender and then run before the wind.
Lord, may I run before the wind of Your Spirit today and sail on the ocean of Your love. Amen.
