Asking for Wisdom

If any of You lacks wisdom, You should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to You. - James 1:5-6

Dear Father, the skies, wind, and sun remind me of how brilliant You are. When I look at my hands, I am reminded of You, because You spoke and created humankind in Your image. Thank You for this new day! Rain or shine, every day is a blessing. Lord, You are wise, and Your divine sovereignty is impeccable.

Today I ask for wisdom for the challenges ahead. Fill me with Your wisdom for how to deal with people – especially those who are hurting. Speak Your wise words through me, Holy Spirit, as I encounter difficult situations and conversations. I pray wisdom for my loved ones as they navigate life, jobs, family, and obstacles. Help us, Holy Spirit, with everyday wisdom even for how we take care of ourselves and steward what You’ve given us, including our time. Give me wisdom on what to say yes and no to, what tasks to delegate, and help me to know the times and seasons and what we ought to do.

I don’t want to do anything without You, Lord, and I repent for the times when I ignored Your voice of wisdom. I turn back to You. I value understanding and wisdom over material possessions. Lord, anoint me with Your gift of wisdom. Thank You for hearing my prayers and graciously giving me the wisdom I need thrive as an ambassador for Christ. Amen.
