Commissioned to Go

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded You. - Matthew 28:18-20 (abridged)

King of all the earth, I praise You for Your great and mighty works. Thank You for sending Jesus with all authority on heaven and on earth and for sending us in the authority and name of Jesus! Thank You for commissioning Christ’s followers everywhere to “go” and make disciples. Lord You have instructed us to multiply Your kingdom and have given us the tools we need to do Your work. I will not be timid or afraid to speak Your truth and share Your gospel. I will not be fearful of people or how they will respond. Lord, instead I will rely on You to give me words and wisdom to share Jesus in my everyday life. Holy Spirit, help all those within the body of Christ to remain focused on the Great Commission. Lord, thank You for empowering me for this great work and for such a time as this. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen!
