Freedom After Divorce - Reclaim Your Life

DAY 2 OF 6

Day 2: Grief Is Healthy

Grief is a natural and necessary part of healing after divorce. It shows you’re processing your loss rather than staying stuck in it. Grieving allows you to release pain, surrender emotions to God, and make room for His peace.

Your journey will not look like anyone else’s. There is no “right” way or set timeline for grief. Certain days—holidays, anniversaries, or unexpected moments—may stir up memories, and that’s okay. As Ephesians 4:26 reminds us, “Be angry, and yet do not sin.” God gives you permission to feel without shame.

David grieved deeply when his son was ill, but when the time of mourning ended, he rose, washed his face, and gave thanks to God (2 Samuel 12). In the same way, when you’re ready, take that next step. Healing isn’t about blame—it’s about accountability, forgiveness, and allowing God to restore your heart.

Reflection: Where do you notice yourself holding back tears or avoiding emotions? Invite God into that space today.

Prayer: Father, thank You for reminding me that grief is not weakness but a path to healing. Help me release my emotions to You, rise in Your strength, and give thanks in all things. Amen.
