Positioned in Peace

DAY 5 OF 5

Peace as a Weapon

"And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace." -Ephesians 6:15 (NKJV)

In spiritual warfare, peace isn’t passive - it’s powerful. Ephesians 6 lists peace as part of the armor of God, not just to comfort us, but to equip us for battle. Paul says to put on the shoes of the gospel of peace. That means wherever we go, we carry peace with a purpose.

Peace is stability in chaos. It’s confidence in confusion. Just as Roman soldiers wore sturdy footwear to march through rough terrain, we are called to walk in peace that’s rooted in the Good News and anchored in Christ. It prepares us to stand firm when everything else appears to be shaking.

The enemy thrives on conflict, confusion, and fear. But peace cuts through that noise. Peace disarms the enemy because it refuses to panic. When we carry peace, we carry God’s presence into every situation. That’s not weakness; it's power, and it’s warfare.

Romans 6:13 calls us to offer our bodies as instruments of righteousness, "and do not go on presenting the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your body’s parts as instruments of righteousness for God." (NASB)

That includes our minds, our mouths, and even our movements. When our feet are guided by peace, our entire lives become a weapon in God’s hands. We’re not reacting to the world; we’re advancing His Kingdom.

Walking in peace means choosing forgiveness over offense, stillness over striving, trust over anxiety. And that choice becomes a threat to darkness. Peace says, “I know who I belong to. I know who goes before me. I will not be shaken.”

So don't just pray for peace; walk in it. Let it guard your heart, guide your steps, and ground your faith. Peace isn’t just something you feel. It’s something you fight with.

Prayer: God, use me as an instrument of Your righteousness and establish my heart and mind in Your glorious peace.

About this Plan

Positioned in Peace

At the Last Supper, Jesus told His disciples, “Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.” (John 14:27 - NASB). Jesus made it clear: His peace is always available to us. But how do we actually live in that peace, no matter the season? In this devotional, we’ll look at the life of Jesus and His Word to discover how to abide in His peace-filled Presence, steadfast, unshaken, and full of hope, even when life feels anything but peaceful.
