Positioned in Peace

DAY 1 OF 5

Peace is a Person

“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.” -Ephesians 2:14 (NKJV)

Peace isn’t just a feeling, and it's not the absence of trouble or the result of everything finally going right in your life. Peace is found in a Person, and that Person is Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:14 makes this powerful truth clear: “He Himself is our peace.” Jesus doesn’t just bring peace; He is peace. Our Messiah, Christ Jesus, embodies the reality of true peace in this world. When we experience the peace of God in our hearts, what we’re really experiencing is His presence. The Presence of Love Himself.

This same peace is the peace that Isaiah spoke of when he prophesied that the coming Messiah would be called the "Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). On the cross Jesus demolished the wall that separated us from God, whether it was fear, sin, shame, or anxiety. He made a way for us to live in unbroken union with our Father in Heaven. That union is where real peace begins, abides, and goes on forever.

When you feel overwhelmed, remember that you don’t need to chase peace. Peace, after all, chased you down, "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10 NASB) The peace that surpasses our ability to understand it is always found in the presence of the King. The more aware you are of Him in your daily life, the more peace becomes your reality.

He’s not far off or hard to reach. After all, He did promise that He'd never leave you nor forsake you. He’s right here. He is alive inside of you. He's ready to settle your soul, calm your mind, and heal your heart.

Prayer: “Jesus, You are my peace. Help me to stay close to You, no matter what today brings. And help me abide in Your peace."

About this Plan

Positioned in Peace

At the Last Supper, Jesus told His disciples, “Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.” (John 14:27 - NASB). Jesus made it clear: His peace is always available to us. But how do we actually live in that peace, no matter the season? In this devotional, we’ll look at the life of Jesus and His Word to discover how to abide in His peace-filled Presence, steadfast, unshaken, and full of hope, even when life feels anything but peaceful.
