Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

Then it will come to pass, when seventy years are completed, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation (Jeremiah 25:12).
Do you anticipate God fulfilling all the prophecies in the Bible?
Nebuchadnezzar becomes king of Babylon in 605 BC, which is the same year that Daniel was deported to that country. The Lord uses this powerful king to chasten the disobedient people of Judah. Their northern counterpart went into captivity in 722/721 BC by the Assyrians, and they did not learn from God's actions. God gives the duration of the captivity as seventy years, which will be followed by the conquest of Babylon. Cyrus the Persian in 539 BC conquers Babylon as predicted. Meanwhile Jeremiah clings tightly to God because he knows that His Word is true. Similarly, we should walk with Jesus who accurately predicts the future and is Himself the fulfillment of the Law (Matthew 5:17-18).
Employment Point: Trust the integrity of God's Word while clinging to its author.
