Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2.22).
Do you run away from temptation and to God's holy servants?
Joseph exhibits the command to "flee also youthful lusts." He chooses not to flirt with Potiphar's wife, but runs from the path of sin. He asks the temptress before bolting, "How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" (Genesis 39:9). Indeed, Paul exhorts his younger son in the faith to spend time with godly individuals who promote purity. The wise apostle knows the following: "He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed" (Proverbs 13:20). "Do not be deceived," also writes Paul, "Evil company corrupts good habits" (1 Corinthians 15:33). Christians who move away from worldly allurements and pivot toward godly companionship will glorify God.
Employment Point: Flee temptation, and choose friends given to holiness.
