Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year One

DAY 297 OF 365

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1).

Are you aware of Satan’s deceptions?

The last days began with the first coming of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-2). Satan failed to kill Jesus at His birth (Matthew 2:1-12) and today seeks to lead astray people from worshiping Him. He is a liar (John 8:44) and influences others to do the same (Acts 5:3). Furthermore, he desires to have the saints embrace the wisdom of this world. James exposes his modus operandi in James 3:14-15, "But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic." Moreover, Satan's missionaries are described as follows: "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:13).

Employment Point: Be watchful, for Satan is a master deceiver.
