Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year One

DAY 292 OF 365

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5).

When did God call you to Himself?

God knew Jeremiah and had a special appointment for him to fulfill before he is born. The sovereign Lord also commissions Paul to a specific task from his conception. He writes, "it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles" (Galatians 1:15-16). Likewise, we have a sacred calling. Paul informs the Ephesians, "just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love" (Ephesians 1:4). Since we have a high calling like Jeremiah and Paul, let us seek to honor the Lord by holy living.

Employment Point: Dedicate your life to Him who calls you to Himself before time began.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year One

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
