30DaysOfBibleLettering - Round 4

DAG 30 AV 30

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1 NASB [Illustrations included in this devotional are not visible in this view. Illustrations are only supported in the Bible App for iOS, Android, and at Bible.com] “If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ were not there?” As I read this quote by John Piper several years ago, my world suddenly turned upside down. I realized that I could be content with all that the world offered even if Christ was not there. And so I recognized that, though I had been serving constantly in a church, leading several Bible studies and was even involved with missions, I was not truly of His flock because I did not truly love Jesus. Several months after that pivotal moment, God regenerated my heart. Now, the words David penned: “I shall not want,” mean so much more to me! More than the supply of all my needs, more than just caring for me, watching over me, and leading me, the Lord Himself is the supreme satisfaction of my soul and my all in all. This is what the Good Shepherd is for all of those who are truly in Christ. May we relish in the great joy it is to be a part of His flock! by @handletteringco
