WILD LOVE I have found wild love, can’t control it, Hit me like a wildfire, set me in motion. Have you ever watched one of your friends catch feelings for someone? One minute, they’re keeping it 100 and then the next thing you know, everything about them seems to change. They start brushing their teeth and wearing deodorant. They trade their good taste in music for sappy love songs. They start overusing the heart eye emoji and in the most extreme cases, their IG becomes a shrine to their Bae. People do crazy things for love. The God of this Universe may have done the craziest thing ever for love though. He didn’t have a low-key sort of love and He wanted to make His feelings for us official, so He sent His only Son to die on a cross for us. That’s a wild kind of love. But what about your love for Him? What does your love for Him motivate you to do? God wants our love for Him to burn like a wildfire. Not a candle. A wildfire . Wildfires spread and can’t be contained. When you’ve got love that consumes you like a wildfire, it’s contagious. You can’t help but spread it to the people around you. There are a lot of fires that burn in our hearts and our emotions can often feel like wildfires, dangerous and out of control. But if you set a fire in your heart for Jesus, you'll never have to worry about the outcome. He is a sure bet. The Bible tells us that in God’s presence there is fullness of joy, so that means worship should be our happy place. It’s not just a time to lift our hands, close our eyes, and be super serious. Being in God’s presence can and should be fun too! Worship Him with those awesome dance moves He gave you and get a little crazy next time you’re singing, “Nothing else compares, losing all my cares, now that I have found wild love. Wild wild love!” Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29
