## Walking in the light brings fellowship with others and with God Through Jesus Christ, God forgives our sins and washes us clean. He is the only way we get to God. That’s why God sent Him to planet Earth so that He could be the substitute for you and me. When we walk in the light our families and our friendships come together, our marriage and our dating is better. But you and I are pulled into the shadows over and over. What’s the answer? To stand and say, “I’m going to walk in the light, and trust Jesus who has cleansed me of sin.” A Bible commentator said: “Those claiming to know God but lacking fellowship with believers call into question the sincerity of their belief.” Like the cross, there is a vertical relationship with God which makes the horizontal relationships better. So when we walk in the light we are better spouses, better friends, better employees, better neighbors. Because we aren’t walking in the shadows, trying to justify and self-deceive ourselves. When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, a lady filled out a request for help on our website. One of our staff members called her and found out she was a single mom in need of diapers and pajamas. Then the lady added, “Our car was flooded too. If y’all got a car, that would be awesome.” So they started working out how we could help her. Staff Member One hung up and walked to the hallway. Staff Member Two walked up and Staff Member One said, “You’re not going to believe this. We are going to help this single mom with diapers and clothes. She even said, ‘If you have a car, that would be awesome.’” Staff Member Two goes, “Five minutes ago somebody called to donate a car to a single mom!” Staff Member One called back the single mom and broke the news for her. She began to weep and cry. An hour later the single mom called back and said, “Did I hear you right? Did you say a car?” And Staff Member One had the opportunity to lead this single mom to Jesus Christ. When you walk in the light, you love others differently. When you walk in the light, you hear God differently. When you walk in the light, you get to be a part of those kinds of stories. Is there any hero in the darkness stories? No. The light stories are where God is doing something great.
