The Road Home: Reflections of a Prodigalනියැදිය

Again, we see the Lord Himself rejoicing in these verses.
And while these verses were originally penned to Israel, the prophet speaks truth for those of us who can say,
“The Lord has taken away your punishment,
He has turned back your enemy.”
If we have asked Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sins and rule our lives as King, our punishment is indeed taken away, and He has defeated the enemy of our souls!
A spirit of joy and celebration could live at our very core!
We are saved, rescued from the punishment of sin.
How do you feel reading that the Lord is rejoicing over you? That He takes great delight in you?
Spend some time praying that your heart would be full of joy over your own salvation.
Spend some time praying for people you know that God wants you to “search for” so that they, too, would be saved.

Jesus tells the parable of the Prodigal Son to a crowd of tax collectors and sinners, the unsavory people of that time. The Pharisees stand by in judgment. As we read together, we will explore the themes of repentance, returning, and rejoicing. Hopefully, we will be challenged and encouraged as we reflect on our own seasons and events that draw us back towards the Father – only to find Him running towards us!
