Coming to Life: 30-Day Devotionalනියැදිය

The Coming King
The prophets looked forward to a coming King. Isaiah envisioned a child who would reign with justice and peace forever. Zechariah foretold the Lord reigning over all the earth.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” They longed for a political deliverer, but Jesus came as a King unlike any other. His kingdom was not of this world. Instead of seizing power, He laid down His life. Instead of a throne of gold, He bore a cross of wood.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus inaugurated the Kingdom of God — a kingdom marked not by domination but by love, not by force but by forgiveness. His reign transforms hearts and lives, spreading like yeast through dough.
Revelation shows the ultimate fulfillment: Jesus returning as King of kings and Lord of lords. The kingdom of this world will become His, and He will reign forever.
For now, we live in the tension of the “already” and the “not yet.” Christ reigns even now, and yet His kingdom is still coming in fullness. We are called to live as His subjects, embodying His values of justice, mercy, and peace.
The coming King gives us hope: no matter how chaotic the world, His reign is certain. His kingdom will never end.
Reflection Questions
- How does knowing Jesus’ kingdom is “not of this world” change your perspective on earthly power and politics?
- In what ways can you live as a faithful subject of the King today?
Prayer
King Jesus, thank You for coming humbly to save and for reigning in glory. Help me to live under Your lordship, embodying the values of Your kingdom. I long for the day when You will return and every knee will bow before You. Amen.
