Coming to Life: 30-Day Devotionalනියැදිය

The Promise of Restoration
After seventy years in exile, God’s people were allowed to return to Jerusalem. Ezra tells of rebuilding the temple, and Nehemiah records the restoration of the city walls. Though their efforts were small and fragile, God assured them through the prophets that greater glory was coming.
Haggai encouraged the people that the glory of the rebuilt temple would surpass the former. Zechariah pointed forward to a King who would come humbly on a donkey, bringing salvation. These prophecies looked beyond stone and walls to a greater restoration fulfilled in Christ.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, He fulfilled Zechariah’s vision. When He spoke of raising the temple in three days, He revealed that His body was the true temple. The restoration was not ultimately about buildings but about God dwelling with His people in Christ.
Nehemiah’s words still inspire: “The God of heaven will make us prosper, and we His servants will arise and build.” As followers of Jesus, we are called to join in His work of restoration — rebuilding lives, communities, and hope through the gospel.
The promise of restoration is not only past but future. Revelation shows the final vision: God dwelling with His people, every tear wiped away, and all things made new.
