Coming to Life: 30-Day Devotionalනියැදිය

The Parables of the Kingdom
Jesus often taught in parables, which are simple stories with profound meaning. These stories revealed the mystery of the kingdom to those willing to hear.
He compared the kingdom to a mustard seed — small and hidden at first but growing into something expansive and life-giving. He likened it to hidden treasure and a pearl of great price — worth giving up everything to obtain.
Through these parables, Jesus showed that the kingdom often begins in unexpected ways but has incomparable worth. To follow Him is to reorient our lives around the treasure of the kingdom.
In Luke 15, Jesus tells parables of lost sheep, lost coins, and a lost son, each revealing the joy of heaven over repentance. The kingdom is not just about rule but about restoration, about the Father’s joy in reclaiming the lost.
The parables remind us that God’s kingdom defies our expectations. It is both hidden and revealed, costly and free, small and expansive. It calls us to listen with open hearts and to value it above all else.
Reflection Questions
- Which parable of Jesus speaks most powerfully to your life right now?
- What might God be asking you to give up in order to fully embrace the treasure of His kingdom?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the wisdom of the parables. Give me ears to hear and a heart to respond. Help me to value Your kingdom above all else and to rejoice in the restoration You bring. Amen.
