I don't want a sick heart or a downcast soul. I want to hope in You and have my longings fulfilled. So, I praise You, my Savior and my God. Thank You for allowing me to stand in this world as a tree of life! > REFLECT: Hope is an intangible emotion and yet we all have to choose what to put our hope in. God tells us that without putting our hope in Him we will have a sick heart and a downcast soul. Is your hope in anything other than God? Are you trusting God to fulfill your deepest hopes? Can you think of anything or anyone else in which you are putting your hope? > ACT: What is one thing that you are hoping for that you are not getting? What one disappointment is giving you a downcast soul? God says that a deferred hope will make your soul-sick. But if we get our fulfillment from Him we will be as strong as a tree of life! In whatever area you are losing hope, focus your heart on the Lord and praise God, your Saviour. That will take away your downcast soul. And hoping in Him, not in any one thing, event or circumstance, will lift you up.
