Więc zrobili mu tam ucztę i Marta usługiwała; zaś Łazarz był jednym z tych, którzy leżeli razem z nim u stołu. Potem Maria wzięła funt bardzo drogiego, płynnego pachnidła nardu, namaściła nogi Jezusa i wytarła jego stopy swoimi włosami; zaś dom został napełniony od zapachu pachnidła. Zatem jeden z jego uczniów, Judas syn Szymona Iszkarioty, który miał go wydawać, mówi: Dlaczego to pachnidło nie zostało sprzedane za trzysta denarów i nie zostało to dane ubogim? Lecz powiedział to nie dlatego, że on się troszczył o ubogich, ale ponieważ był złodziejem i mając sakiewkę, zabierał zdeponowane pieniądze. A Jezus powiedział: Zostaw ją, zachowała to na czas mojego pogrzebu.
