Moved by Compassion - Learning to See as Jesus Seesਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 3 – Compassion for the Hungry
Scripture: Matthew 15:32–37
Devotional:
After three days of ministry, the crowd around Jesus was weary and hungry. His disciples were ready to send them away, but Jesus said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”
Jesus cared about more than spiritual needs, He cared about their hunger, their weakness, their physical state. He didn’t separate the practical from the spiritual. True compassion sees the whole person and seeks their good in every way.
The feeding of the multitudes is one of the most vivid demonstrations of compassion leading to provision. Jesus blessed what little they had, multiplied it, and met the need of thousands. Compassion always opens the door for God’s miraculous supply.
This story reminds us that Jesus is still drawn to the hungry, both physical and spiritual. He feeds the body and nourishes the soul. He fills the hungry with good things (Luke 1:53). When we show compassion to those who hunger, we become part of His miracle of provision.
Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by the size of the need before us. We wonder if what we have is enough. Yet Jesus asks us to bring the little we have, our time, our resources, our prayer, and place it in His hands. Compassion is not about what we can do but rather seeing what God can do.
Who around you is hungry today? Not only for food, but for belonging, hope, or truth? Let the compassion of Christ move you to share what you have, trusting Him to multiply it for His glory.
Reflection:
What need has God placed before you that feels too big to meet? What small step of compassion can you take today?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You care about every part of our lives. Teach me to see the hungry, to notice the weary, and to trust You with the little I have. Let compassion grow in me so that others may be filled and strengthened by Your love. Amen.

About this Plan

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus was often “moved with compassion.” His love was never passive, it led to action, healing, and transformation. In this five-day study, we’ll explore how compassion shaped Jesus’ ministry and how the Holy Spirit can awaken the same heart within us. Discover what it means to put on compassion, to be led by the Spirit, and to become God’s hands and heart to a broken world.
