Daniel Fast - Awakening to His Realityਨਮੂਨਾ

Fear Not: Peace Be With You
“O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” — Daniel 10:19 (ESV)
What is your greatest fear today? Does it come from the culture around you, or the constant stream of news? Is it the fear of failure? The future? The unknown? Fear of war, sickness, poverty, or death?
God’s Word urges us to conquer fear through faith and peace—the fruit of the Spirit. But what do we do when God’s own message brings fear, weight, or trembling?
God’s Word does not always come wrapped in comfort. While it brings light, direction, and a firm foundation, it can also bring conviction, challenge, and holy fear.
Think of Noah and Abraham:
- Noah received a devastating word about a global flood.
- Abraham was asked to sacrifice his beloved son, Isaac.
Scripture does not detail their emotional turmoil, but surely God’s messages shook them to the core.
Daniel 10 gives us a clearer picture.
“In the third year of Cyrus… a message was revealed to Daniel”—a vision of great conflict and war.
The revelation overwhelmed him. Daniel mourned for three weeks.
He said, “No strength was left in me… I fell trembling on my hands and knees.” (Daniel 10:8–9, ESV)
Daniel was strong and faithful, yet the vision terrified him. He confessed:
“…by reason of the vision pains have come upon me… no breath was left in me.”
But God’s messenger strengthened him:
“…fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” (Daniel 10:19 ESV)
In Times of Increasing Fear
We live in days of deep uncertainty—wars, disasters, instability, and constant headlines of crises. Nations shake. Hearts tremble. Fear grows.
How do we respond?
The book of Revelation speaks of God’s coming judgment and the shaking of the world we live in. How do we face such a sobering message?
Do we respond like Daniel—fasting, praying, and seeking understanding? Or do we allow fear, panic, and the flood of social media to consume our thoughts?
Jesus warned us:
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see that you are not alarmed.” — Matthew 24:6 (ESV)
“Do not be troubled.” — KJV
“Don’t panic.” — NLT
God’s will is that His people stand firm and take action. This is possible only when we understand His purposes.
Spiritual battle means exchanging panic for trust, and fear for confidence in Him.
When we do, faith and peace become powerful weapons that help us overcome.
Prayer
“I acknowledge that I have fears.
Bless me to overcome them through faith and guard me with Your peace.
Strengthen me to abide in Your Word and let it be the light for my path.
Help me daily to walk in the fear of the Lord, not in the fear of this world.
Give me discernment for the times and empower me to act according to Your will.
Amen.”
