Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 203 OF 365

Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4 NKJV).

What is your heart’s greatest desire?

God revealed to Ananias His will for Paul: “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel” (Acts 9:15 NKJV). Paul’s heart became aligned with God’s mission. When the Lord’s purpose for your life becomes your heart’s joy, He will empower you to represent Him well. God reassured Paul after a tough encounter with the Pharisees and Sadducees, saying, “Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome” (Acts 23:11 NKJV).

Like Paul, Jesus also embraces God’s will. His mindset is predicted in Psalm 40:8 (NKJV), “I delight to do Your will, O my God” (see Hebrews 10:5–9). The Father delights in those who find pleasure in doing His will.

As you seek God’s will in your daily life, you will find joy and fulfillment in aligning your heart with His purpose.

Employment Point: Find your satisfaction in God and receive your heart’s desire.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
