Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10 NKJV).
Imagine if God appeared to you and asked, “Ask! What shall I give you?” (2 Chronicles 1:7).
This was Solomon’s reality in today’s devotion! He wisely requests, “Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people...” (2 Chronicles 1:10 NKJV). Solomon values wisdom above material riches.
In John 12, Mary was a wise woman who gave a sacrificial gift to Jesus. John writes, “Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus…” (John 12:3 NKJV). This perfume is valued at 300 denarii, equal to 300 days' pay for an average laborer. Let's be like Solomon and seek God’s wisdom! We should also be like wise Mary and look for opportunities to sacrificially give of our time, resources, and talents to serve others and honor God.
Employment Point: Pursue God’s wisdom through the Word and prayer while humbly serving at Jesus’ feet.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
