Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

He must increase, but I must decrease (John 3:30 NKJV).
Are you willing to stand alone for God?
Throughout history, great men and women of God shared a common trait: they were willing to stand alone. Consider Elijah in 1 Kings 18, challenging the prophets of Baal, declaring his allegiance to the living God. When Elijah called on God, “the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice...” (1 Kings 18:38 NKJV). Although alone, He trusted in God’s power amidst opposition.
Likewise, John the Baptist learned to stand alone, pointing people to Jesus as the Lamb of God. He boldly proclaimed, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29 NKJV). Both Elijah and John relied on the Lord’s strength, but how about you? Are you willing to stand alone for your faith? I hope you are! Remember, with God you’re never truly alone. When we stand for God, He stands with us.
Employment Point: Stand alone for God, awaiting His display of vast power.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
